Cari Mercado has a meticulous post-college plan: survive her first corporate job, pay down her student loans, and move out of her loud Puerto Rican family’s New Jersey home. Falling for Leo Lopez, her brother’s infuriating best friend and the unemployed neighbor who has tormented her since childhood, is nowhere on the spreadsheet. But beneath Leo’s jokes and recklessness is a depression he has told no one about. As their antagonism becomes intimacy, Cari must decide whether the future she planned can make room for a complicated love. Leo must decide whether he can build a life with her without sacrificing the recovery he needs.
